I got the idea to blog here from my friend Leia. I think it is a neat way to document our lives as a family and to keep friends and family updated on the events in our lives.
So here we go...
Most of you know us or you wouldn't be reading our blog, but just in case, here is a rundown:
Kyle and I got married young. I was 16 and he was 19. There have been many ups and downs but along the way we have grown together and a strong couple. He is my very best friend and an amazing husband.
Kyle works for Ojai Auto Parts, a business that He and my sister and brother in law decided to venture into just a year ago. This last year has been a learning curve for the business and they have done fairly well considering it was the first year under their ownership. He loves his job and he is close to home and for that we are grateful:)
I have a small cleaning service but right now I am on Maternity Leave. We only take commercial cleaning jobs at this point to keep things simple while I am on leave. Luckily I have a trustworthy sub contractor who has handled all the jobs while I am out. She is awesome! I enjoy being a part time stay at home mom. My kids are everything to me. This next few weeks will be a trial and error period, getting use to having 4 kids, 3 under 4 years and at home.
That brings us to the kids:
Jack is our firstborn son. He is 10 years old. He is bright and imaginative. His heart is golden. He loves to be outside, but never alone outside. He is in 4th grade this year and learning the rewards of hard work.... at school and at home. He is a great helper to me (most of the time, lol) and to his Dad. Jack loves photography, and we are buying him his own camera soon so that he can hone his craft. He also loves to make new friends. He will strike up a conversation with just about anyone just because he is a friendly individual. He likes anything you can ride: Bikes, scooters, skateboards, etc. Jack is a wonderful son and a great friend and big brother to Nick, Pete and now Sierra. I love that kid!
Nick is 3 1/2. He will be 4 in January. Nick is learning how to be kind and play nice. LOL Jack is his very best friend. Nick loves spending time with Jack lizard hunting or scooter riding... it doesn't matter, as long as he has Jack. Nick is my cuddle bug. None of the boys really love to cuddle, but Nick will. He loves nap time, because it is the only time he gets to be alone with me. He also likes it because he gets to nap in our bed. Lucky Kid! So at nap time we snuggle and I tweedle his hair and while we watch cartoons, he falls to sleep. I love watching him sleep. He is a gorgeous child. His eyes make this soft curve when they are closed that has never changed since he was a newborn. These moments, when all is quiet, and I see my beautiful children and the gift that they are, makes every other chaotic moment worth having.

Peter is 20 months old. He is a pistol! He is at that age where is is frustrated because his words aren't all there, but he is trying his darnedest to tell us something. He is pretty good at showing us what he wants. Peter has my Grandmother's eyes. Sometimes it's like looking into her eyes. Pete and I have a special bond in that way. He was with me at the hospital over the many weeks that my Grandmother was getting sicker and sicker and then when she passed away. Its like he knows her when looking at her pictures that she was something special. He tells her "hi" when we pass her picture on the kitchen wall. He is a funny boy. He loves to play and roughhouse with me or Kyle, but not the other boys. I guess he feels picked on? I love his giggle and his goofy little teeth. Peter looooooves bath time. He is one of those that would be in the tub all day if you would let him. He is so independent, although he is having some trouble adjusting to having Sierra here. He is trying hard though. He just misses me. He wants me to hold him, but I cant lift him or have him jumping on my incision.... and he will jump.... up and down off my lap. He cant sit still. LOL. We will make it through this adjustment period and he will be just fine. (I need to get a new picture of Pete to post)
And then came Sierra. I have to say, She was an unexpected pregnancy and I was not pleased at all. I had a very difficult recovery from Peter and NEVER wanted to be pregnant again. BUT I did want a daughter. I PRAYED and PRAYED and PRAYED for a daughter... for years. I love my boys to death, but I had a string desire in my heart to be a mother to a girl. The months before I found out I was pregnant, we had looked into adoption. I wanted to adopt an older girl, maybe 7 years old, from the state system. Kyle did not think it was good timing, or even a good idea. So I prayed some more. A few months later..... I was pregnant. Again..... not excited. The pregnancy was pretty uneventful until the end. Sierra Eden was born just 10 days ago, weighing in at 4 lbs 15 oz. Sierra is beautiful. We are getting to know each other and working out our schedule. She has shown a (gas) smile. It's so sweet. She has beautiful little Shirley temple dimples like my sister Karri, and her eyes curve the same way Nick's do when he is sleeping. After the pregnancy and the c section and the healing precess........ I know that God is so Good. He truly answered my prayers for a daughter.
Well, that is our family in a very small nutshell. It is time to wake the kids and try out our new... very scheduled routine. Wish us luck!
