Needless to say the last 3 weeks has been an adjustment for everyone. Crazy and busy with very little sleep, which is why I haven't blogged. I think we are getting to a turning point. Peter is starting to relax a little. For three weeks it has been a non stop fit from him. We have tried everything in our Mommy and Daddy trick archive and nothing has helped. Attention.... He just needs attention. So this weekend, Nick and Jack were invited to stay the weekend with Nana and Papa (Kyle's grandparents) in Summerland. I have to say, after all the noise over the last few weeks, having only 2 here is weird. It's like...... quiet. The plan is to just spoil the heck out of Peter with as much attention as possible so that he knows he is loved and wanted even though Sierra is the new baby.
Luckily, Sierra is such a sweet baby. It could be so much worse, I know. She could be colicie. I guess the old saying is true. "God does not give us more than we can handle." Although sometimes in the midst of the chaos, it is easy to forget.
Having 4 kids is a wonderful blessing and very time consuming..... for those of you with children, you know what I am saying. So here is a quick and easy recipe for a fall day like today... it only takes 20 minutes and it is way yummy.....
20 minute chilli
Brown 1 or 2 lbs of hamberger meat, season with seasoning salt, garlic powder and pepper.(80% lean is good)
DO NOT DRAIN
add:
1 jar of pace picante salsa (mild or medium)
2 cans of pinto beans (drained and rinsed)
2 cans of kidney beans (drained and rinsed)
1 large can of tomato sauce, only add enough to be desired consistancy. If you want it soupy add more, thick add less. Simmer on medium until the sauce is more brownish than tomatoie red.
Serve with grated cheese and crackers or garlic bread or corn bread:)This will feed your whole family with leftovers.
